Search Engine Reports
March, 2006
3/27/06: The index update that occurred last month, along with the
introduction to Google's new data centers, is now complete. What's
changed? Not much, unless you were a victim of page jacking, or your
PageRank was split. The algorithm now knows that
http://www.yourdomain.com is the
same as http://yourdomain.com. Inbound
links pointing to either URL should now contribute to the PageRank of
both. As for page jacking, if someone has redirected one of their URLs to
one of your pages, making it seem as if your page is hosted on their site
- and, in the process, as if you are spamming the engines with duplicate
content - Google should now be able to determine which page is legitimate.
3/8/06: Google settles class action click fraud lawsuit for $90 million.
3/8/06: MSN introduces beta version of new engine to power MSN search
results.
